Football tip Juventus refused 57 million euros from Liverpool as a reserve defender
Juventus defender Merich Demiral has been chased by Liverpool in recent days from the transfer window. Merseysiders even made an official offer for the Turkish national, but it was rejected, Sport Mediaset revealed. The proposal was worth EUR 57 million. Interestingly, the specialized site Transfermarkt estimates Demiral at almost twice the amount - 30 million. However, Juventus refused to part with the 22-year-old defender because they rely on him in the long run. The footballer himself also chose to stay with the `Bianconeri` and fight for the starting place.
Juventus bought the Turkish defender in 2019 from Sassuolo for 18 million. Until recently, he was recovering from torn knee ligaments. Last night Demiral started as a starter in the victory over Inter for the Italian Cup, and veterans Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci remained on the bench. Liverpool still managed to attract two central defenders. The English champion strengthened with Ben David from Preston and Ozan Kabak from Schalke 04.
