British rapper Stormzy wants to see more blacks in football.


He spearheaded a program that aims to inspire change by tackling the lack of diversity off the pitch and


A report released last month showed that 43% of Premier League players and 34% of EFL players are black, but only 4. 4% of managers are black.


A new study shows that people who identify as black or people of mixed black heritage hold 6. 7% of football leadership positions.


The study, commissioned by adidas and the Fare Network, also found that 52% of black women surveyed would like to get a position in football, but 40% believe they can`t get one because of their gender.


Stormzy and adidas, along with 11 partners including Manchester United, Fulham and Sky, will create a career development program called Merky FC that will provide internships in various areas of football. The goal is to help young black people get jobs and take leadership positions in football.


We hope to inspire real change in this area, " said Stormzy.


In 2020, the rapper pledged ?10m over 10 years to UK charities and movements. The money will be used to address issues of racial inequality, justice reform, and black empowerment.
