Bruce Boudreau responded to criticism from Jim Rutherford.


Vancouver`s president of hockey operations said the team`s run-and-gun style won`t work in the long run. Rutherford also disliked the Canucks` training camp and believes a more efficient system should be played.


We play as hard as we can, we play as well as we can. And every evening we put everything on the line.


This is what it is. I try as much as I can to keep the hype out of the dressing room. I can`t get inside the heads of the players, but if we have a positive effect [from criticism], then it can anger them, motivate them to show that everyone is wrong.


I`ve been doing this for 47 years and I`ve seen a lot. I think every person wants to prove that people are wrong when they say something [about you].


I`m a competitive person at heart, and maybe that`s the whole point: to prove that this statement is not true, "said the head coach of Vancouver.
