Fiorentina's captain Davide Astori has died of 'natural causes', which is quite strange for a player who had not complained about physical problems. The 31-year-old Italian national was found dead in his hotel room in Udine after not appearing at the morning breakfast of the team and not answering his phone calls.

The team of La Viola had been preparing at the hotel before today`s meeting with Udinese, which was subsequently canceled. 'What we consider to be the cause of Astori`s death is a heart problem caused by natural causes.`, said the Prosecutor Antonio De Nicolo. 'It is odd that this can happen to a professional footballer who has been followed briefly and has not shown anything worrying.', concluded De Nicolo.
